Every year, as the Festival of Lights approaches, a common question arises: What’s the difference between "Hanukkah" and "Chanukah"? Both spellings refer to the same Jewish holiday celebrating the miracle of the oil that lasted eight days, but the discrepancy comes from the challenge of transliterating the Hebrew word חנוכה into English.

"Hanukkah" is the more widely used spelling in English, especially in popular media, while "Chanukah" is often favored in more traditional Jewish contexts. This variation doesn’t change the meaning or the joy of the holiday; it’s simply a difference in preference. Both are correct and celebrate the same beautiful traditions.

Whether you spell it with an "H" or a "Ch," the spirit of the holiday remains the same—a celebration of light, miracles, and Jewish resilience.
